An Event for Children of All Abilities

Everyone should have an opportunity to experience the wonder of nature, without physical or financial barriers standing in their way. Thanks to the support of the Minnesota Zoo Foundation and its donors, programs like Dream Night make this vision a reality at the Minnesota Zoo.

Dream Night is a special event that opens the Zoo’s doors to children and adults with significant healthcare needs and disabilities, along with their immediate families or caregivers. This unique evening allows up to 2,000 attendees to privately explore the Zoo, offering an open and inclusive environment where they can connect with wildlife.

Families attending Dream Night enjoy an array of activities designed to spark joy for all. From music and games to silent dance parties, there's an opportunity for every family to unwind and focus on fun. Whether discovering a new favorite animal or exploring the Treetop Trail, Dream Night is an event where lifelong memories and connections to nature are made.

Sharon, a parent who has attended Dream Night with her family, shared her experience: “My daughter has developmental and intellectual disabilities, as well as autism and ADHD. Access to fun activities without large crowds is great because we know it will be more fun for all of us. We’re surrounded by families who also have a special needs family member. We don’t have to worry about someone saying something negative or staring if our daughter does or says something that isn’t age appropriate. We’re able to enjoy the activities and have fun.”
